Stefano Bigoni studied piano with Gioiella Giannoni and Vincenzo Audino and achieved his diploma at the Conservatorio "G. Puccini" in La Spezia with full marks. He completed his musical education graduating in composition and instrumentation for bands at the Conservatorio "A. Casella" in L'Aquila with Maestro Piero Luigi Zangelmi. He later attended masterclasses with Michele Campanella, Bruno Canino, Vincenzo Audino, Lazar Berman, Sergio Perticaroli and Marcello Abbado and collected prizes in many national and international competitions ("C. Soliva" - Casale Monferrato, "Max Lider" - Motta S. Anastasia, "Pietro Napoli" - Livorno, "Sannicandro Garganico", "A.Gi.Mus." - Viterbo, "Città di Ortona", "Lido di Camaiore", "Città di Aqui Terme", "Casarza Ligure", Uliveto Terme "Premio S. Rachmaninov", "F. Chopin" - Roma). He made several recordings for music labels, radios and televisions and many of them have been broadcasted by Radio Classica Milano, Radio Vaticana, Rai Radio 3 and Radio Svizzera Italiana (RSI). He collaborated with M.A.P. on the label Lira Classica Milano. He has recently recorded a CD including compositions by Mozart, Clementi, Weber, Chopin, Zangelmi and Margola for the magazine "Suonare News". He collected positive reviews issued on the most important Italian newspapers and magazines such as Il Tempo, Il Messaggero, Il Corriere della Sera, Il Centro, Il Mattino, Il Tirreno, La Nazione, Orfeo nella Rete, Musica e Scuola, Suonare News… He has a wide range of repertoire , from Baroque to contemporary with a focus on 20th century music and has been giving thematic and monographic recitals on J.S. Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Chopin, Liszt, the Viennese 18th century and the Russian, Italian and French 20th century. He premiered many pieces composed for him by Luciana Bigazzi, Piero Luigi Zangelmi, Massimo Colombo, Giuseppe Cangini and Donato Russo. He transcribed and elaborated for piano J.S. Bach's Sonata BWV 1001 and Rimsky-Korsakov Flight of the Bumblebee. From 2009 is partner of "Progetto C.O.M.I . (consorzio operatori musicali italiani)" based in Milano. As solo performer and as member of ensembles he is often invited by important music associations in Italy and abroad. He was in the jury of national and international competitions and official piano accompanist for competitions and masterclasses held by famous performers. He was professor at Conservatorio "N. Rota" in Monopoli (Ba), Istituto di Studi Superiori Musicali "Vecchi-Tonelli" in Modena, Conservatorio "U. Giordano" in Foggia (branch of Rodi Garganico) and Conservatorio "N. Sala" in Benevento. He is actually collaborating with Accademia "G.B. Viotti" in Grosseto. Stefano Bigoni considers his teaching activity complementary to his lively performing experience.
